Yin and Yoga Nidra Afternoon Workshop

Sunday, 1st March 2020: 14:30 – 16:30pm

 

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice, helping you to dive into a deep state of rest and relaxation. The workshop will start with some gentle Yin poses to ease into the physical body, before ultimately dropping into the Nidra practice.
 
We will then be working with the fundamental aspects of yoga Nidra; body scan, intention setting and breath-work techniques, which ultimately bring us closer to stillness and reflection. No experience is required, all you need is yourself and some comfy clothing you will stay warm in!

The Power of Intention – Align Your Actions to Your Deepest Desires

Friday, 20th March: 14:00 – 17:45pm
 

The day will start with a 60-75 minute yoga and meditation session. The practice will allow us to start exploring the power of working with intentions: how to visualize them, set them and continue to work with them over time.

We will work on the different spheres and areas of our lives through guided meditation, visualization and journaling, in order to be ready to start putting our vision boards together.

The vision board will emanate from deep within, after the work done in the initial stages of the workshop and will be a creative process of collage, drawing, painting, writing. Attendees will be free to use their creativity and continue to develop and grow their vision board after the workshop. The tools to be able to create your own vision boards, when desired, will be explored.

Sometimes it can feel as if we live in a world in which we are constantly told that we are not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, blank enough. These beliefs can make the relationship that we have with ourselves a challenging battle.

It is entirely possible to love the person you are, exactly as you are. And it is never too late to develop what is the most important relationship you’ll ever have.

Join Alexandra Taylor in this intimate two hour workshop to explore the benefits of loving yourself, as well as developing the skills to cultivate a deep self-love. After some gentle movement to connect with and celebrate your body, you will be guided through a series of meditations to help ignite the flame of love in your heart for all things, and above all, yourself. There will be space for self inquiry and exploration, as well as the opportunity to delve deeper with any questions that may arise. Bring your journals and pens as we discover just how amazing and powerful you are. Open to all levels. Bring something warm and cosy to wear for the seated parts of the practice.

A Restorative Practice of Compassion

Join Erika for a 2 hour journey of restorative and mindfulness. We will explore postures that will relax the body and allow us to tap into our mental capacity to work with our thoughts and mindsets.

Compassion requires us to soften our hearts. In traditional mindfulness practices, this process starts with finding the capacity to explore an attitude of compassion towards ourselves, to then be able to extend it to others. We will work with loving kindness meditations, as we explore the capacity to find deep states of relaxation, softening our bodies to soften our hearts.

Suitable for all levels of experience including absolute beginners

The Balance of Steadiness and Ease in our Practice

This course provides an afternoon of yoga philosophy and movement through the yoga sutras. The Yoga Sutras by the sage Patanjali is one of the most well-known and widely read classical texts on yogic philosophy and life. Patanjali sets out a very practical 8 step path to purifying the body and mind with the goal of cultivating a quiet steady mind, eventually leading to a sense of calm and wholeness.

Asana is steadiness and comfort Sthira sukham asanam (Yoga Sutra II.46). In this workshop we will take a practical look at the verses that specifically inform our asana practice, breaking them down in terms of meaning, interpretation and how we can apply them on the mat and beyond. We will explore aspects of our practice and work on refining and depending our practice, exploring the philosophy to become more present and more aware.

Precision, Pace and Grace

We often rush through our practice in the same way we rush through our daily lives. We are focused on the destination, as opposed to the journey. Slowing down our practice and paying attention to the transitions in the same way as the destination, allows us to refine our practice.

Once we start tapping into the capacity to refine our practice and pay attention to each stage of it, we tap into the ability to move with grace. Our whole practice becomes fluid and effortless; a dance with the breath.
